Projects in the Works....

So far I have six squares done and I am still not sure what its going to turn into. On good days: a queen size quilt. On bad days: a series of pot holders :)
Table update: this is not paint...it's furniture stripper. I HATE furniture stripper. The stripper is now gone (thank god) and I am getting ready to stain.
We are being run out of the house by rocks! Every trip to the beach results in pockets (and sometimes bags) full of rocks. This is our first batch into the tumbler and they turned out beautiful. I'm hoping that with a few more supplies I can start turning our piles of rocks into beautiful pieces of jewelry!

Central Coast Summer

Welcome to the fickle summer weather of the central coast. We are enjoying the cool, foggy mornings watching the otters in Morro Bay while sipping Top Dog chai lattes. We are also taking advantage of any clear sunny day to explore our local beaches.

Ragged Point Jade Hunt

Ragged Point is located 15 miles north of San Simeon and 15 miles south of Jade Cove along Highway 1. Its a beautiful, rugged beach that we had all to ourselves. There is a lot to explore and we found some really nice pieces of jade and driftwood. We also saw a California Condor.

I love Craigslist!

I discovered this composter FREE on craigslist last night right before we were getting ready to eat dinner. Luckily it was located just a couple of blocks away. Its in great shape and as you can see compared to the bikes, is pretty big. It will fit perfectly into a corner of the garden. It's originally from the Gardener's Supply Company and I found it online - this thing sells for $169!!! I love getting a deal :)

I got this end table today at the San Luis Obispo flea market for $5. Don't worry, I'm not going to paint it turquoise :)

The Farm

Here is the progress of the garden so far. It's growing pretty slow but we've had a lot of foggy weather so far this spring. It's my first garden so Im proud that it's even alive at this point! That last picture reminds me that I need to go do some weeding......

Here is what we have growing:
Roma Tomatoes (2), Blue Lake Bush Beans, Oregano, Jalapenos (2), Lemon Cucumber,Yellow Crookneck Squash, Zucchini, Cilantro, Nasturtiums and there was a Basil plant but it mysteriously disapeared.

Craigslist Nightstand

I got this nightstand for free on craigslist in Morro Bay! All it cost me was some sample size paint from Ace Hardware (Turquoise Bay and Warm Scones). I sanded it and did two coats of each color. The handle was originally painted a brass color and was covered in grime but some steel wool cleaned it up really nice! I am really happy with the way it turned out and now have the urge to paint all my furniture turquoise.....
